First Report on Screening of the Profiles of the Essential Oils and Volatiles from the Aerial Parts of Marrubium persicum Using Classical and Advanced Methods Prior to Gas Chromatographic Mass Spectrometric Determination

The Lamiaceae family consists of a broad spectrum of medicinal plants involving Marrubium L. genus. Regarding the diverse pharmaceutical uses of the plants belonging to this genus, they can be considered as proper alternatives for chemical drugs having harmful effects. The present work aims to identify and characterize chemical compositions of the essential oils and volatiles from the aerial pa...

Comparison of enzymatic and liquid chromatographic chloramphenicol assays.

A radioenzymatic assay and a "high-performance" liquid chromatographic assay for chloramphenicol were compared by using 52 patient specimens, 24 mock unknowns, and 13 quality control samples. Both methods were found to be rapid, precise, accurate, and sensitive, and either would be suitable for monitoring chloramphenicol concentrations in small volumes of serum. Linear regression analysis of se...

An electron-capture gas-liquid-chromatographic method for the determination of prostaglandin F2alpha in biological fluids.

A sensitive electron-capture gas-liquid-chromatographic method for the determination of sub-nanogram quantities of prostaglandin F(2alpha) was developed. The method is based on the sub-microgram scale conversion of the prostaglandin into the electron-capturing pentafluorobenzyl ester, and analysis of the latter as the tris-trimethylsilyl ether. The lower limit of detection was 12.5pg of the est...

Comparison of analytical strategies for the chromatographic and mass spectrometric measurement of brominated flame retardants: 1. Polybrominated diphenylethers.

The chromatographic and mass spectrometric (MS) behaviors of 49 polybrominated diphenylether (PBDE) homologues toward various techniques is investigated. Special attention is paid to chromatographic separation, ionization processes, and signal acquisition modes. Different liquid chromatographic (LC) separation systems and gas chromatographic (GC) temperature program parameters are studied. For ...
